We never thought it was possible, that people could be so mean. We are members of a site called Doggyspace. I went to this site, because I have three dogs and wanted to be friends with owners of other dogs. We knew we would meet all kinds of people there, people are a diverse group as are the dogs. Big dogs, little dogs, sometimes they don't get along, but most of the time they do. On the rare occasion, a fight might ensue.
I quit my job of 7 years bathing dogs. I really missed the dogs I had as regular clients, so I heard about Doggyspace in the paper, a fledgling web site for lovers of everything dog. All dogs.
Well, my dogs are the most diverse group you could ever put together, but they get along. I have a Pitbull mix, Rudy, a Yorkie mix, Bailey and a Shih Tzu named Little Bit. These dogs get along very well, even though people said, your Pit Bull will eat the other ones. Prejudices. I've been bitten by more small dogs than big ones. I love big dogs. Bully dogs are my passion.
So I go to this site, make friends, I'm having a blast making friends with every dog on the site. They are all just so doggone cute! Click, click, click, make friends with a click. My dogs became the top friend getter on DS. Well, we got hounded for that.
"how can you keep up with so many friends?" "Why not just have a few that you can talk to?" Well, we kept befriending dogs. We were having fun making friends, chatting, sharing, we shared joys and sadness. With the fall of the economy, some people lost jobs. We consoled them all.
Some of the users made a "Secret Paw" kinda of like a secret Santa, exchanging gifts. No one would know the others identity until they guessed or Christmas time. We gave hints as to who we were and I guess they were too good because our Secret Paw found out who we were. They guessed with five hints.
All was well in the doggy world, meeting people, chatting all things dog. Then some users were saying rude things, fighting and whining on our doggy site. Yes, dogs do whine sometimes, but this was children fighting on other sites and bringing it onto our site. The site owners got complaints and they decided, the children were not supposed to be there anyway, the ones under 13 were exspunged.
Unfortunately, this meant all the children under 13, not just the ones causing problems. Then everything was fine on DS again, but some older owners didn't like some of the 13 and over making a virtual village, complete with hospital, party places, a cinema, places you would normally see in a town. They opened a bar and the older people went rabid. "There shouldn't be anything like that on a dog site" they said. The older dog owners were trying to control the site.
The site owner had the chance to merge with another dog site, that brought in about another 2000 users, but they were confused because this was done without their knowledge. Some got mad and left, others decided to see what the site was like and became wonderful users.
Owners continued to complain about the younger users, in the virtual village. Other owners posted about their problems with the economy. Some had divorces and breakups, most were supportive and others got tired and instead of just ignoring the post, they posted rude comments, blasting them for even writing the posts. Some were so mean, they sent private messages of hate. Some users started leaving the site.
The creators of the site were trying to see what the upset was all about. Posts were going up blasting a certain user for being on the site whe he didn't have a dog. Well, the man had a dog, but he had a break up with a girl and the dog belonged to her, so the dog went with her. Well, this man really got attached to the dog, he had asked the population of the dog site if he should leave or should he stay. Everyone commented for him to stay, make the site a tribute to the dog he had come to love. He made the sitge "To the best little dog a man could ever have". Well, people complained said it sounded like the dog had died.
The man made friends, had secret paws, remember that from the beginning, began reviewing movies and being a guest at the Doggyville Cinema, the virtual theatre. Friday nights were lots of fun, just getting to gether and chatting. The older users didn't like this. They wanted the site run their way. Well, being that the site did not belong to them, the creators tried to figure out what was going wrong. Mean posts began to appear, blasting the man that didn't have a dog, calling him a nasty dog and calling him a stalker. As users got tired of the back biting, and left, the man was blamed for them leaving, although he had nothing to do with it.
The site creators decided, with no information on both sides to banish the man without the dog. People that liked the man, found him on another site. A people site.
Users on the dog site began to slander the man and anyone that supported him, which, included me. Ah, yes, I come into the picture. We find out the man's side of the story. The other users said he was stalking women. Why would he do that on a dog site? Rude words were said and I reported them to the site creators. They were mean, vicious attacks on a man that wasn't even on the site anymore. Many rude users railed against him. Some of the users using slander, got banned by the site creators. One user happened to have a dog that was dying from cancer. The users railed against the administration saying they should never have bannished a sick dog. But they praised them for bannishing the man without a dog, who did nothing to anyone. The man had a human site that one owner didn't like. The man being a single man, after the breakup, had some good looking women as his friends. Their pictures would appear on the site when they posted a comment. several of the users did not approve of his site, although the site had nothing to do with the doggie site. But some people were sharing their people sites with the dog site users so they could get to know the people behind the dog.
So the users continued to rail the man, slandering his and is dog's name while he had no way to defend himself as he was bannished from the site. When we saw the slandering, we reported it to the dog site admin. Two little dogs with big mouths and several other dogs could not leave it alone. The admin. told them not to mention the names again. If they did, they would be bannished from the site. The two little dogs decided, this site was their site and they went up against the administration, waging war against the admin dog, which was not a real dog but one grabbed from a picture on the web. The head admin did own dogs and they are on the site, but these users were so blind by rage that they decided to attack the admin and the site. They made funny little Blogs, on this network about invading the castle and taking down the Princess. They got bannished from the site. they made a fake blog about a trial date with Judge Judy, although they lost even in the mock trial., they carried their hatred on. They just couldn't let it go, they still had contact with users on the site.
Meanwhile, the man without the dog, without the girl, sat by himself, without even the site he had made for his dog.
I tried and try to console the man, although we are distances apart, just to talk dog, as he loves dogs.
Why I write this blog is to show the meaness of the users that owned dogs, biting and thrashing a poor man that was not happy in the first place while they consoled other users on the site for losing in relationships. But see, they were women and not men. Their reasoning is that a man can take a breakup, just suck it up, while the woman can cry and be consoled. They showed bias and being two faced. They railed me and my dog because we were and are friends with the man. We couldn't see him not having friends.
So, thanks to some selfish, self serving people this little dog site has been turned upside down. The dog that had cancer died and the bannished dogs entered the site on the night of his death and wreaked havock, leaving rude comments and making posts in memory of the bannished dog. This was on memorial weekend, they knew the site admins would not be availble to supervise the site. Even though these dogs made their own little site, with just their meaness to contain themselves, they could not quit railing the man and me. I became so stressed I wanted to leave the site myself.
The site is still in an uproar, it will never be the same, it was a nice site for dog owners to get together to talk dog and console each other when their dogs got ill, or to rejoice over other good things.
I feel defiled, my dog has been defiled and railed for believing in the man that did nothing to anyone but console people when their dogs were sick, rejoice with them when they were happy. Never saying an unkind word to anyone. The bad dogs are still there. They are still talking mean and leaving mean posts. The site will never be the same loving, dog loving site again.
So how can people be so selfish and so mean as to try to take over a site they didn't own and rail the administration as well as several users. How dare they think things can be run their way. How dare they tell people who they can be friends with.
These people are nastier than a Pit Bull fight. because they know what they are doing.
I have been truly hurt by people that I considered friends. Prayed for them, helped them. Only to have them stab me in the back.
How dare they. How immature. How insane. How heartless. If only they could bring in the straightjackets now. I've lost hope in the kindness of dogowners. Such gnashing of teeth.
The site will never be the same. It is sad, it was a nice little site for people to talk about everything dog.
I had a haven called Doggyspace, it was like cloud 9, K-9, then some dogs came and peed on my cloud. Now it reaks.
